The story follows four young soccer superfans who must team up with their idols, Zlatan Ibrahimović and Megan Rapinoe, to save the sport. A mad scientist and secret mayor known as "Weird Al" Yankovic hatches a diabolical plot to steal the skills of the world's best players using mutant slugs. These slugs siphon talent and transform the athletes into hulking, green "mutant" monsters. The group of kids, known as the "Creature Catchers," must use their genuine love for the game and hard work to defeat Yankovic’s manufactured talent and restore the players to normal.
