The RWD-5 Bis model commemorates the record-breaking flight of , who in 1933 became the first Pole to fly across the South Atlantic. The RWD-5 Bis was a modified version of the standard RWD-5, featuring an extra 300-liter fuel tank in place of the rear seat and removing windows to save weight. It remains the smallest aircraft to have ever flown across the Atlantic non-stop.
