The story follows (Houston Rhines), a young advertising professional who is hitting a personal crossroads as he approaches his 30th birthday. Seeking excitement, he downloads a mysterious smartphone app called —a portmanteau of real-world dating sites eHarmony and OkCupid . The app takes on a life of its own, omnisciently manipulating Marshall's world by arranging dates with "perfect" matches and overwhelming him with attention from attractive men.
