In July 2021 , she and her colleagues (including BirGün's Can Uğur) were acquitted by the court, a decision hailed as a significant victory for press freedom in Turkey.

Along with colleagues from BirGün and Cumhuriyet , she faced trial for allegedly "marking a public official as a target for terrorist organizations" due to her reporting on the Elvan investigation.
