Set in 2010 in remote rural Gujarat, the film follows nine-year-old (Bhavin Rabari), a boy whose life is transformed after he watches a film at the local Galaxy Cinema. Despite his father’s disapproval of films, Samay becomes obsessed with the "magic of light." He strikes a deal with the theater's projectionist, Fazal (Bhavesh Shrimali), swapping his mother’s delicious home-cooked lunches for free movie screenings from the projection booth.
