The story follows a news team—led by producer Tim Manfrey (Dominic Purcell) and cameraman Steven Johnson (Orlando Jones)—as they travel to Burundi to capture the world’s most dangerous predator. However, the mission quickly evolves into a survival nightmare. The team finds themselves caught between the jaws of a 25-foot monster and the crossfire of a violent local civil war led by a ruthless warlord.

: The film attempts a "meta" commentary on media ethics, noting at one point that the world only pays attention to regional tragedies when "white people" are involved. However, critics at Alternate Ending labeled parts of the film "outright offensive" due to its characterization of African locals and the polarizing comedic relief provided by Orlando Jones.

: Dark and gritty, often bordering on "transgressive" horror with scenes that push boundaries regarding violence and sexual politics, though it ultimately remains within standard B-movie territory. MOVIE REVIEW: Primeval (2007) - John Kenneth Muir

: Dominic Purcell, Orlando Jones, Brooke Langton, and Jürgen Prochnow.

: The CGI used to bring Gustave to life received mixed feedback. While John Kenneth Muir found the B-movie fun and scarier than expected, others felt the digital effects were dated even for the time. Production Context Director : Michael Katleman
